Escherichia coli RNA polymerase is composed of multisubunits and an
essential enzyme for regulated gene expression. The core structure of E
coli RNP contains b (155kDa), b’ (151kDa), a dimers (2×36.5kDa) and
w (10kDa) subunits with a total molecular mass of 389kDa. E coli RNP
was purified from BL21(DE3) cells through ion exchange, size exclusion
and Heparin chromatography methods.
